Measurements for UFP Torsion axles are made to outside of frame.   Also check the hub face.
To determining hub face on an UFP axle.  From the outside of frame for 3500 & 4200  lb. axle add 16"  to the outside of frame measurement.

 

For 6000 lb axle add 19" to outside of frame measurement to determine the hub have measurement.
 

Measurements for TieDown Eng. Torsion axles are made to outside of frame.  For a McClain Aluminum Trailer add 2" to the frame width measurement to determine proper axle length.

NOTE:

On 3500# 78" Torsion Axles add 13.25" to Axle length to get the Hub face to Hub face measurement.  (Example 78" + 13 .25" = 91.25")

On 3500# 80" Torsion Axles add 13.25" to Axle length to get the Hub face to Hub face measurement.  (Example 80" + 13.25" = 93.25")

On 3500# 82" Torsion Axles add 14" to Axle length to get the Hub face to Hub face measurement.  (Example 82" + 14" = 96")

On 6000# Torsion Axles add 16.5" to Axle length to get the Hub Face to Hub Face measurement.  (Example 76" + 16.5" = 92.5
